The Establishment functions to maintain the status quo, sending in storm troopers in tanks to quell dissent or simply imprisoning those who refuse to tow the line. But while the Animal Liberation community may not have the state’s resources at their disposal, we boast our very own establishment dedicated to maintaining the status quo. Our movement’s establishment rails against industrial animal abuse by circulating petitions and filing welfare violations with the state. They make guest appearances on Jane-Velez Mitchell or Dr. Oz, they get a soundbite in the news here and there and, in the interest of fair and balanced reporting, are immediately dismissed by the experts who then discuss the strict federal welfare standards that govern animal care. Never will you hear a member of the animal rights establishment define those strict regulations for the mainstream as nothing more than laws that regulate animal torture.
This powerful faction made up of the big and small animal welfare orgs, journalists, and assorted others may not be very effective at much in terms of Animal Liberation; they do, however, make a nice profit for themselves and sell lots of t-shirts and books. But the insidious animal rights establishment is very effective at quelling any kind of meaningful dissent among vegans and enforces a standard of moderation. How many times have we seen vivisectors commiserate on their blogs about waiting for their welfarist colleagues to speak out against activists that are out of their control? The welfarists oblige on cue. And we silently tolerate this.
Earlier this year, the Alliance to Win Animal Rights (At War) announced it’s first free “escalation workshop” which takes place in central Florida next month. Following is our schedule of events and information about last minute accommodations for those want to attend. This interactive conference will be hosted by the directors of Eleventh Hour for Animals who issued the following statement:
“Animal Liberation activists want to create change. But many don’t know where or how to start. Our movement will never be at a loss for groups offering encouragement and a social outlet if we want to follow them; unfortunately none offer much effective action. This summit is aimed at empowering our revolutionaries; those who want to go forward and usher in a new era of progressive and aggressive action for the animals. Here is where we start…”

2 – 4 pm: Discussion
With a target of 10 participants, our group will be small enough to be wholly interactive. Let’s explore where your passion is before we discuss the tactics to achieve your end. In order to end animal suffering, we must be focused and dedicated; not delatants.
8pm: Potential Spontaneous Action
Let’s put our ideas into practice. Home Demos are always encouraged. But every community is ripe with animal abusers waiting for us.
The Alliance to Win Animal Rights (At War) announced our first FREE “Escalation Workshops” last month which will be held at the home of a director of Eleventh Hour for Animals in Wildwood, Florida from July 7 – 10. For full details, please see our announcement HERE.
In a brilliant article published last month, Roland Vincent writes “direct action by animal rights activists has been sporadic, unfocused, and ineffective.” At War wholly agrees with this premise.
Essentially this piece articulates how the fascist corporatocracy in which we fight, the manifestation of capitalism run amuck, exists to profit from the slave state. The system will never protect animals. They will restrain and imprison us to protect the purveyors of death. Mr. Roland correctly concludes that we must take matters into our own hands, therefore, to avenge the animals and create real change.
It is clear that we must be willing to take escalated and revolutionary action lest our movement remain imprisoned itself inside mainstream mediocrity.
So, Roland, my friend, the balance of this essay is to challenge you! Those of us who both author ideas and possess the courage to give them voice must also be willing to assume the personal responsibility to see that our visions will come to pass in our lifetime. To simply inject ideas into a collective consciousness that is largely incapable of implementing them is like throwing a pebble in an ocean. It will make an imperceptible ripple that dissipates almost immediately. And what we need is a tidal wave!
Abdul Haqq (formerly Walter Bond) is an imprisoned ALF operative who, as the Lone Wolf, took brilliant and decisive action against three animal abuse enterprises. He is scheduled to be released in 2021. Let’s never forget the animals’ warriors while they are in time out.
A few people sent messages via Abdul Haqq’s Amazon book wish list asking for the list to be updated. Right now and for the past several months Abdul Haqq has not requested any books. Now might be a good time to point out that Abdul Haqq’s birthday is approaching (April 16). He is turning 40. Birthday cards can be sent to:
Editorial Note: You don’t need to be in New York to support our political prisoners. Join At War in participating in this event wherever you are.

WHAT: Political Prisoner Letter-Writing Dinner
WHEN: 7pm sharp, Tuesday, March 15th, 2016
WHERE: The Base – 1302 Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn, New York 11221 (directions below)

In Manhattan, there was the premiere of the first installment of “Inside the Activist Studio” featuring their first guest, released political prisoner Sekou Odinga. Just a few blocks away was the first film shown in a series in support of political prisoner Leonard Peltier. In Brooklyn, there was a fundraiser in solidarity with transgender prisoners which raised funds for Black & Pink. Not too far from there will be a fundraiser for recently released political prisoner Albert Woodfox.

Scumbag Antonin Scalia, 79, was an animal-murdering piece of shit who spent EVERY moment of free time with his elitist, hillbilly hunting friends at private canned hunts and safari excursion-executions. Canned hunts fence-in animals so wealthy, immoral psychos can pay large sums of money to corner their victims and prevent them from escaping in order to ensure a kill!
Scalia’s vile, disgusting body was found February 13 at the Cibolo Creek Hunting Ranch near Marfa, Texas, just before the morning kill was to begin.
In the February 25 edition of The Washington Post, Scalia was exposed as a member of the International Order of St. Hubertus animal-killing cult: “Members of the worldwide, male-only society wear dark-green robes emblazoned with a large cross and the motto ‘Deum Diligite Animalia Diligentes,’ which means “Honoring God by honoring His creatures,” according to the group’s website. Some hold titles, such as Grand Master, Prior and Knight Grand Officer. The Order’s name is in honor of Hubert, the patron saint of hunters and fishermen.”
“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -Benjamin Franklin
The industry-crafted Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA) has had a chilling effect on Animal Liberation activism in America, classifying us as domestic terrorists if we affect the profits of animal abusers. Isn’t that our job? But while this oppressive piece of legislation looms glaringly over our movement, the sole objective of the systematic erosion of our civil liberties and Constitutional rights is to criminalize dissent and neuter activists.
Home demonstrations are a highly effective form of activism. We must go out and hold abusers personally accountable for their war crimes. And cowards fear exposure. The UK police state has, therefore, criminalized home demonstrations. And in the evolving US police state, we see vivisectors across the country running to the state to seek restraining orders and injunctions against activists who “threaten” to tell the truth.
Truthful words appear to be very scary instruments for the insidious monsters among us.
Before he was sentenced by the judge that day, Walter Bond said this …
Statement to the court in Denver, Colorado, February 11, 2011
I’m here today because I burnt down the Sheepskin Factory in Glendale, CO, a business that sells pelts, furs and other dead Animal skins.
I know many people think I should feel remorse for what I’ve done. I guess this is the customary time where I’m suppose to grovel and beg for mercy. I assure you if that’s how I felt I would.
But, I am not sorry for anything I have done. Nor am I frightened by this court’s authority. Because any system of law that values the rights of the oppressor over the down trodden is an unjust system.
“We can’t rally the troops because we have no troops.” -Walter Bond, 2012
We’re taking control of our own movement and invite you to join the revolution.
At War is prepared to build a grassroots army equipped to establish itself in our own communities. We need grassroots networks that have the ability to mobilize offline, under the radar. And we are using the internet going forward to get activists off the internet! We need to be able to send out one text message and have 100 activists show up outside some deserving vivisector’s home at 1 am. We need to be able to send out one text message and have 100 activists descend on a fur farm and rip it apart piece by piece. And for those who get arrested, they need to know that there will be 5 move waves of activists ready and anxiously waiting to step onto the battlefield while they are in time out.
